Scholarships

NMAC offers several scholarship opportunities to support attendance. In addition to our general scholarships, we have several programmatic scholarships for youth. Below is a description of each scholarship category.

Although we would like to award scholarships to all those who apply, unfortunately, we cannot. However, we are committed to helping applicants develop a robust application. Keep an eye out for the upcoming webinar dedicated to submitting a quality scholarship application. Representatives from each scholarship program will discuss the goals and activities and explain what reviewers want to see when recommending scholarship awards.

Follow these tips for all requests:

  • Answer all narrative questions completely. A minimum of characters in the form will notify you if you have not included enough text.
  • Review the descriptions for each scholarship program.
  • Share your story and personal experience. Discuss what you hope to learn at the conference and the impact it will have on your life and the lives of others.

Note: You can only apply for one scholarship category.

The HIV 50+ Strong and Healthy program is no longer part of this application. This will be a separate application process managed by the Treatment division.  All program components remain the same, including attending USCHA. The only change is when the members of the cohort will be selected.  In early mid-February, stay tuned to the NMAC newsletter and social media channels for the latest information on the program application. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to treatment@nmac.org

OPTION A AND OPTION B SCHOLARSHIPS

There will be a limited number of scholarships available. While we invite all employees, directors, and volunteers who meet the above criteria to submit a scholarship application, only one scholarship per agency will be awarded. Scholarships are awarded according to the answers provided in the application, financial need, geographical distribution, and the populations served.

Those applying for a scholarship can choose between two types:

The Option A scholarship includes:

  • USCHA Registration ONLY

The Option B scholarship includes:

  • One (1) USCHA registration
  • Two (2) nights of accommodation at the conference hotel, and
  • A $100 gift card

The information you provide in your submission is NOT confidential and will be shared with a committee that reviews all applications.

Scholarship recipients who qualify for Option B will receive the $100 travel subsidy onsite. NMAC will make a hotel reservation for each awardee of an Option B scholarship for two nights, arriving on September 11 and departing on September 13, 2024.

Any additional nights to the reservation must be requested and paid for by the awardee.

Upon check-in at the hotel, the awardee will need to provide a credit card for additional expenses. Special arrangements will be made for those awardees unable to provide a credit card guarantee.  This will be communicated to awardees directly.

The deadline to apply for an Option A or Option B scholarship is Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

If you have any questions, please contact conferences@nmac.org.

Notifications about the scholarships will be sent by  Monday, July 15, 2024.
